One of the most important aspects of the church today is that of adult education. While nothing essential in the church has changed, many details and attitudes in Catholic practice and worship have been updated beginning with Vatican II. Therefore, it is most important that all Catholic adults take advantage of every opportunity to grow in the understanding and appreciation of their Faith and their Church through various adult education programs offered in the Wausau area. Such happenings are published in the bulletin.

Adult bible study, Lenten programs and book studies are offered throughout the year. All adults are encouraged to participate. Announcements of these opportunities are made through the weekly bulletin. St. Anthony Spirituality Center ( in nearby Marathon, Wisconsin is also available for groups to participate in scripture study, retreat experiences, and days of reflection. Parishioners are also encouraged to call the Religious Education office if there are specific topics that they would like to have offered.

Anyone interested in forming study groups of any kind in regard to religion is invited to do so. Interested persons may contact their pastor or any priest in the area for advice, assistance or involvement. Individuals or groups are encouraged to make appointments with a priest when questions or special interest about religion arise.

Catholic literature and books are available Parish Library located in the Gathering Space in the Church. Christian bookstores are located in Wausau and Weston.

THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA) RCIA is available for adults who have never been baptized (catechumens) and people of other denominations (candidates) who wish to become members of the Catholic Church. Information sessions are held Sunday nights in the Faith Formation office beginning in September and ending in April. Contact: Faith Formation Office at 715.693-4030 or
